blurb This Is MelbourneThis Is Melbourne is a collaborative community event uniting musicians, artists, and supporters of the arts in fundraising and volunteering initiatives to support and rebuild those affected by domestic inequities. Our mission is to get as many people involved and to ensure that ALL of the money we raise goes directly towards supporting its intended purpose. Our present goal is to help our neighbours in need in the rebuilding of the communities and homes that were destroyed by the flooding in Queensland and Victoria, and to demonstrate continued support for the arts in our local community.It is in that spirit that PartOfTheMillion.Org has teamed up with Habitat For Humanity Australia to continue their ongoing efforts, as well as provide tactic solutions for individuals, businesses, and families who do not qualify for charitable support over restrictive guidelines. We are recruiting volunteers, musicians and artists to partake in our fundraising and promotional initiatives. Together we can show that the arts are not only a necessary part of our community culture, but that art is a viable and effective way to produce change with results.
